UI Health System provided rree screenings at New Futuro as the only hospital sponsor

On November 10, 2012, the University of Illinois Health System was an exhibitor sponsor at the second annual New Futuro Summit at Navy Pier. Physicians, clinical staff and medical students provided free body mass index (BMI), blood pressure screenings and expert evaluation to the estimated 10,000 attendees. A total of 298 screenings were provided, with 181 to adults and 117 to children. It was also an opportunity to share information on a number of the services provided at the Health System. The successful event was the result of efforts on the part of multiple clinical service lines including Children's Hospital University of Illinois, Pediatric Diabetes, Pediatric Sickle Cell, Kidney Transplant and Blood & Marrow Transplant as well as the Chicago Diabetes Project. Mayor Rahm Emmanuel was present throughout the day and spoke to attendees about contributing to the community and taking pride in your future.
