The University Of Illinois Hospital & Health Sciences System's Department of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery - has a proud and established record of patient care and international recognition. Our comprehensive services feature six subspecialties, each providing exceptional care.
Audiology & Neurotology
For individuals with severe to profound hearing loss, the cochlear implant device has brought or restored hearing to many. Because comprehensive treatment is our goal, our Cochlear Implant Team is comprised of two cochlear implant specialists, a neurotologist, a child psychologist, and a pediatric speech-language pathologist.
Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery
Cosmetic and reconstructive surgery of the face, head and neck. This includes but is not limited to corrective nasal surgery to resolve breathing problems, cosmetic nasal surgery, revision nasal surgery, eyelid lift/eye tuck, brow lift and facelift.
Speech and Voice Care
Treatment for voice and airway disorders. This specialty serves patients with hoarseness, change in voice or laryngeal function and provides specialized voice care (such as damaged vocal folds) for professionals with unique needs, such as professional singers, actors, teachers and public speakers.
Sinus & Nasal Allergy
Provides services in rhinology, sinus surgery, nasal surgery, skull base surgery and the treatment of nasal allergies specializing in the minimally invasive treatment of sinus/nasal conditions like sinusitis, nasal polyps and nasal fractures.
Otology and Neurotology
Treating various diseases of the ear, such as chronic ear infections and hearing loss, our specialists address dizziness, balance disorders, facial nerve disorders and perform surgery for cochlear implants and other implants that resolve hearing loss, as well as for skull base tumors.
Head and Neck Cancer
Heavily involved in research and prevention, this specialty treats patients with various head and neck cancers, such as squamous cell carcinoma and thyroid cancer, as well as benign thyroid lesions and salivary gland disorders.
Our general services include caring for patients with snoring and sleep apnea, thyroid masses, goiters and salivary gland tumors, as well as sinus/nasal allergy. We also specialize in sinus/nasal disorders, adult airway and ear disorders and provide services to pediatric patients.
