Visiting a Patient
The presence of loved ones can have a positive effect on patients and can aid in the healing process. We encourage loved ones to visit and participate in decisions, treatment, and daily care plans as determined by the patient. This page will provide information about hospital hours, gift shop, chapel, hospital amenities, and more. Please note visitor limitations are in effect for COVID-19 and in accordance with the City of Chicago's Emergency Travel Order.

Parking for drop off/pickup in front of the University of Illinois Hospital (1740 W. Taylor St.) is limited to 15 minutes.

Located in the main lobby of the hospital and on the second floor of the Outpatient Care Center.
Contemplation Room/Chapel
Located on the second floor of the new Atrium. The Contemplation Room is reserved exclusively for quiet reflections, meditation, and prayer. This space is open 24/7/365 to all visitors and employees. To request Pastoral Care services, please call 312.996.0296.

The hospital cafeteria, Taylor Street Café, and Java City coffee shop are located on the first floor of the UI Hospital and carries a wide variety of food and beverages.
