Stroke Support Group
Living after Stroke
The stroke support group is run primarily by two stroke survivors who completed their rehabilitation here at UI Health. The group provides peer-to-peer support and is offered to all patients and family members in the hospital and on the acute rehabilitation floor during their stay and upon their return to the community.
The "Living after Stroke" group meets the first Tuesday of each month from 3:30 – 5 pm at 1740 W. Taylor, Room C-100 (Concourse level of the UI Hospital).
Meetings have focused on spirituality, recovery, coping, nutrition, physical activities, stroke education, community involvement, among other topics identified by group members.
