Dimitrios Mastrogiannis, MD, PhD, MBA, has received the CREOG Faculty Teaching Award (2008 and 2012), Best Medical Student Teacher (2012), Best Resident Mentor Award (2012), and was listed as one of the Best Doctors in Philadelphia in 2013. Dr. Mastrogiannis was elected Section IV ACOG Vice-Chair followed by Chair from 2000-2006. He has published over 50 peer reviewed manuscripts and over 40 abstracts, with a focus on preterm labor and tocolysis, pregnancy induced hypertension, HIV in pregnancy, and gestational diabetes. He is active in SMFM and the Maternal Mortality Review Committee. He is a Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology and Director, Division of Maternal Fetal Medicine at UIC and the Obstetric Service at UI Health. Dr. Mastrogiannis completed his medical degree and his PhD in Pharmacology in Greece. He attended Nassau University Medical Center in New York for his OBGYN residency, followed by his fellowship in MFM at the University of South Florida. Dr. Mastrogiannis has been the MFM Division Director, and Director of OB Service at Temple University in Philadelphia, PA since 2007, and was appointed Vice Chairman of OBGYN in 2014.
