Get to know our provider
Dr. Roper is a general pediatrician at Mile Square Urgent Care Clinic, specializing in vaccines, physicals and acute problems. Her special interests include ADHD, behavior problems, and obesity. Throughout her career, Dr. Roper's passion for accessible care has flourished, and drives her to fight for the establishment of better methods of doctor-patient communication, social medicine, and health care coordination. For these reasons, she also contributes to the UIC CHECK Program which assists the families of children who have chronic conditions with accessing medical, behavioral and social services. Dr. Roper graduated from the University of Kentucky's College of Medicine in 1998. She began her residency in Family Practice, but changed course and completed her medical training in Pediatrics at Mt. Sinai Hospital Medical Center in 2002. After years of practicing medicine, Dr. Roper went back to school and earned a Masters of Public Health from the University of Illinois at Chicago in 2013 to support her interest in creating infrastructure for accessible health care. She joined the Mile Square Health Center Network in August of that year.
