The National Museum of Mexican Art celebrated its annual Día del Niňo's Health Walk and Family Festival on Saturday, April 9. More than 3,000 people attended the festival, which celebrates children and promotes health and wellness.

The event opened with a 2-mile walk from the Museum, at 19th and Damen streets, to the UIC Forum, at Roosevelt Road and Halsted streets. The Wellness celebration included health education, fitness, health screenings, nutrition, live performances, games, art, and culture.

UI Health's team of 30 clinical volunteers promoted health awareness and healthy living through pediatric dental checks, blood pressure screenings, body mass index scores, stroke education, choke prevention demos, poison control information, breast cancer education, and mammogram scheduling. Attendees included Carlos Tortolero, president of the National Museum of Mexican Art President, and Dr. Robert Barish, vice chancellor for health affairs at UI Health, who rode the UI Health Bike Blender to encourage exercise and nutrition.
