NIDCAP Training Center

Nidcap Voice of the newbornWelcome to the home page of the NIDCAP Training Center at the University of Illinois.

The NIDCAP center is part of the Women's and Children's Nursing Services within the Children's Hospital. The center is devoted to improving behavioral and psychosocial outcomes for infants born prematurely by educating both staff and families to provide sensitive, supportive care during a period of immense brain growth and development.

The NIDCAP training center provides training in the NIDCAP methodology, as well as general education in developmentally supportive care for fragile infants. Training is authorized through the auspices of the NIDCAP Federation International

Midwest Developmental Care Conference
This year, the annual Midwest Developmental Care Conference will be hosted by UI Health. On April 27, we will have a full day devoted to exploring how best to engage families in to the NICU.
