Stroke Support Group
Facing a sudden medical issue such as stroke can be overwhelming. You are not alone. The UI Health team is here to support you through every step of recovery.
Our stroke support group, Living After Stroke, offers insight from stroke survivors and peer-to-peer support. You and your family can access this support while you are still in the hospital, on the acute rehabilitation floor during your stay, and even after your return to the community.
The Living after Stroke group meets the first and third Tuesday of every month on the same floor as the acute rehabilitation unit (5 East of the Hospital) from 4-5 pm.
Meetings focus on various topics identified by group members, including:
- Community involvement
- Physical activities
- Stroke education
Remember, you don't have to face life after stroke alone. Others can relate to your experience and are here to help and listen when you need.
