Dr. Benjamin W. Van Voorhees practices in the Department of Pediatrics at UI Health. As a clinician, researcher, administrator, and educator, the focus of the work of Dr. Van Voorhees is to prevent the onset of chronic disease in childhood and adolescence. His interests include adolescent depression, psychotherapy, mental disorders in children, and resiliency formation. He has developed multiple patient focused technology applications and directed more than five randomized clinical trials. He has a lifetime funding history of over $28 million in research funding, as well as more than 75 scientific publications and more than 100 scientific conference presentations. Dr. Van Voorhees is the George R. Honig, MD, Endowed Professor in Pediatrics and a Professor of Medicine. He is Head of the Department of Pediatrics, Physician-in-Chief of the Children's Hospital University of Illinois, Project Director for the CHECK Project, and Director of the TIKES Center.
