Hospital Welcome Atrium
Now open! The New Hospital Atrium at the University of Illinois Hospital is a new two-story lobby welcoming patients and their families and ensuring their healthcare experience is first-class.
Located at the corner of Taylor and Wood Streets, the Hospital Atrium improves access, circulation, and wayfinding for patients, visitors, and staff; enhances the interior ambiance of the University of Illinois Hospital; elevates the UI Health brand and image; and provides increased security.

The Hospital Atrium includes public/family seating; registration and check-in; security station and office; meditation and Pastoral Care areas; and conference rooms.
Improving the Patient Experience
The Hospital Atrium enhances the physical spaces that reflect the respect and compassion we give each of our patients.
We are happy to announce that as of February 1, the Hospital Atrium is open for use for our patients and their loved ones.
This project incorporates UIC's sustainability goals and helps reduce maintenance costs.
