UI Health CHAMPIONS Virtual After-School Program

The CHAMPIONS Virtual After-School Program is an academic enrichment program for college-bound high school sophomores, juniors, and seniors on the pre-health track.

Program participants engage in virtual health career awareness experiences and college readiness in partnership with the UIC Urban Health Program and UIC Hispanic Center of Excellence. User Experience (UX) is incorporated to promote engagement and digital collaboration via platforms such as Menti, Mural, and Kahoot! The program meets via Zoom.

The CHAMPIONS Virtual After-School Program accepts students from the following school districts:

  • Belvidere Community Unit School District (BCUSD 100)
  • City of Chicago School District (CPS 299)
  • Harlem School District (Harlem 122)
  • Peoria Public Schools (PSD 150)
  • Rockford Public Schools District (RPS 205)
  • Urbana School District (USD 116)

This program is implemented in partnership with the UIC Urban Health Program.

The application cycle opens in May and closes in September.

The Fall 2025 Application cycle will open late spring.
