WHAT IS 3i?

The 3i Project is a strategic initiative of UIC's academic health enterprise, the University of Illinois Hospital & Health Sciences System (UI Health), which focuses on creating an enterprise-wide electronic health record (EHR) platform that integrates and optimizes business processes with standardized clinical workflows and analytical research capabilities.

Short for "Integrated Information Infrastructure," the 3i Project is about so much more than an EHR. UI Health is undergoing a truly transformational change - change that focuses on medical records being a comprehensive and enhanced interface for the various services we provide for patients. Our organizational investment in this change will enhance the patient experience through this integration of systems across the UI Health enterprise.
