Saturday, April 21, 2018

dia del ninoJoin us in celebrating Chicago's children and promoting healthy lifestyles. The National Museum of Mexican Art commemorates the 22st Annual Día del Niňo Family Festival.  Día del Niño is a national holiday in Mexico, a day when families celebrate their children. The day starts with a "Costume Caminata", a "Super hero costume fun walk", around Harrison Park. Join the walk. Parents are encouraged to decorate their strollers or enjoy the free family festival which includes entertainment, art activities, health screenings, wellness education, and fitness games. Visit UI Health Wellness booths for pediatric dental education puppets and oral hygiene, children's body mass index screenings, nutrition activities and games, learn about pharmacists, and medication safety. Parents can benefit from blood pressure screenings, stroke education, breast cancer information, mammography appointments, and mental wellness pre-evaluations.  Or hop on the UIC Bike Blender and make a smoothie.  For more information, please contact:  Mario Hernandez by email Mario@NationalMuseumofMexicanArt.org, by phone 312.738.1503, or visit: http://nationalmuseumofmexicanart.org/content/dia-del-nino-health-walk-family-festival
