Dr. Edward Villa practices in the Division of Gastroenterology & Hepatology at UI Health. Dr. Villa specializes in therapeutic endoscopy, including treatment of pancreaticobiliary diseases like pancreatitis and pancreatic cancer, and the evaluation of the small and large intestines. His clinical focus is on endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP); endoscopic ultrasound (EUS); endoscopic mucosal resection (EMR) of polyps and masses; and treatment of gastrointestinal cancers. He also has a special interest in endoscopic bariatric therapies, such as intragastric balloon placement, endoscopic suturing (endoscopic sleeve gastroplasty and bariatric surgery revision), and aspiration therapy; these procedures offer a minimally invasive, reversible weight-loss option for patients who are not candidates for surgery or decide against it.
