UI Health Operations: Democratic National Convention (Aug. 19–22)

Thursday, August 1, 2024

The 2024 Democratic National Convention (DNC) will be held in Chicago from Aug. 19–22.

The University of Illinois Hospital & Clinics will operate normally during the DNC. Patient appointments will take place as scheduled; we are not actively canceling or rescheduling appointments.

We anticipate increased traffic and congestion to our main campus locations during the DNC and advise all patients, visitors, and staff to allow for additional travel time to arrive safely to our campus.

UI Health has been coordinating with local and national agencies to prepare for this event and has developed a comprehensive plan to anticipate and respond to potential disruptions or emergencies. Our focus is maintaining the highest level of care for our patients while ensuring the safety and efficiency of our facilities and operations.
