Mayor Rahm Emmanuel Visits UI Health

Mayor Rahm Emmanuel visited UI Health's new Mile Square Health Center on Wednesday, January 08, 2014 to tour the facility and learn more about the unique patient services offered in one location.
As part of the visit, Mile Square Health Center leadership and staff shared our mission of health equity with the mayor and emphasized the significance of a new FQHC with an expanded care delivery model. Television media from ABC7, FOX32, NBC5, WGN9, CBS2 and Azteca were on hand to cover the visit.
The mayor also met with key UI Health leaders to discuss potential ways Mile Square Health Center and the city can work together on health initiatives. The UI Health commitment to building healthier communities for a healthier city aligns with the mayor's Healthy Chicago initiative to transform public health throughout Chicago. During the visit UI Health was able to convey the message that Mile Square Health Center is truly unique.
