Miracle on Taylor Street Brightens Holidays for UI Health Neighbors
Wednesday, December 11, 2019
UI Health employees donated more than 500 holiday gifts to children and families in nearby communities as part of its annual Miracle on Taylor Street employee gift drive Dec. 5.
The annual holiday event partners with local organizations to provide toys, clothing, reading materials, and donations for less fortunate neighbors during the holiday season.
Staff provided donated 532 total gifts — including 60 walk-in gifts — the children and families supported by the partnering organizations:
- A Safe Haven Foundation
- Chinese American Service League
- Missionaries of Charity
- Mujeres Latinas en Acción
- Neopolitan Lighthouse
- New Hope Recovery Center
- Theresa's Interim Housing (Deborah's Place)
In addition, the Pelvic Health Physical Therapy Program provided nearly 50 stockings filled with toiletries.
Members of UI Health leadership were on-hand during the event to greet representatives from the organizations.
Thank you to all UI Health staff for their generous contributions to bring cheer to the less fortunate during the holiday season, and to all the partner organizations for their help in making this year's gift drive a success.
