Neurosurgery Staff Raises Money for UI Health Brain Aneurysm Survivors
Tuesday, April 15, 2014
On June 6th and 7th, 17 UI Health Neurosurgery staff members will participate in the 3rd Annual Relay for Recovery in Madison, WI. The race is a 200 mile relay and will help raise money for UI Health's brain aneurysm survivors. It begins on June 7th in Madison, WI and concludes on June 7th at Montrose Beach in Lincoln Park in Chicago.
Proceeds will benefit The Brain Aneurysm Foundation. The Brain Aneurysm Foundation (http://www.bafound.org) was established in Boston on August 19, 1994, as a public charity. The Brain Aneurysm Foundation is the nation's only nonprofit organization solely dedicated to providing critical awareness, education, support and research funding to reduce the incidence of brain aneurysms. The Brain Aneurysm Foundation has become the world's leading source of private funding of brain aneurysm research.
The Chicago Chapter of the BAF (http://www.chicagoaneurysmsupport.com) was established in 2007 at the University of Illinois Hospital & Health Sciences System. UI Health's Neurosurgery team, the Brainstormers, will be formally honored at the "Survivor In The City" event on Friday, September 12th in Chicago.
