UI Health Is On Your Team

UI Health focuses both on helping and being a part of the community. The same is true of the Chicago Fire Soccer Club. This link between the two organizations led to UI Health becoming the official healthcare sponsor of the Fire in 2012.
Now in our sixth year as the official health system of the Fire, we are excited to continue a partnership that goes beyond the pitch at Toyota Park in Bridgeview.
STARTING XI PRESENTED BY UI HEALTH
For starters, UI Health is the presenting sponsor the Fire's Starting XI, which they tweet about an hour before the start of every game. Follow the Fire on Twitter — @ChicagoFire, #cf97 — and look for the Starting XI presented by UI Health before every match.
PRACTICE IN THE COMMUNITY
UI Health presents the Fire's annual Practice in the Community event, where fans can attend a free, open practice and interact with their favorite Men in Red. This year's event will take place June 11 at Gary/Ortiz School in Little Village. Full details are available at chicago-fire.com/practice.
STROKE AWARENESS NIGHT
On Saturday, May 13, UI Health will be the title sponsor for Stroke Awareness Night for the Fire's match against defending MLS Cup champion Seattle Sounders FC. Fire fans will have many other opportunities to learn about stroke awareness leading up to and during the match. Fire Fest will feature a UI Health station staffed by stroke education volunteers, and fans can pick up a UI Health lunch tote on their way into the stadium with a stroke awareness information card inside. At the match, Dr. Fernando Testai, medical director of the UI Health Stroke Institute, and his son Martin, will participate in the ceremonial First Kick. Dr. Ali Alaraj, from the Department of Neurosurgery, will take part in the ceremonial coin toss.
This will be the sixth consecutive year UI Health has been a title night sponsor. Past title nights have raised awareness for breast cancer, and UI Health and the Fire collaborated on several videos to support the events.
FireFest, located inside Gate B at Toyota Park, is a pre-match event that gives fans a chance to enjoy music, games, and giveaways before entering the stadium (more than 70% of fans enter through the FireFest). UI Health will have a booth at various FireFest events throughout the year, including Stroke Awareness Night on May 13. Our presence allows us to provide health awareness and education to Fire fans and engage potential new patients.
UI Health signage and messaging will be a part of the gameday experience at Toyota Park. Look for us at every game, including the following nationally televised home games:
- May 13 — Seattle Sounders FC — 8 pm, ESPN2, ESPN Deportes
- June 10 — Atlanta United FC — 3 pm, UniMás
- Sept. 9 — New York Red Bulls — 3 pm, UniMás
