Young Cancer Patients Celebrate at UI Health Thanksgiving Party

Children's Hospital University of Illinois hosted a Thanksgiving party for more than 120 pediatric cancer patients and their families on November 23, 2013.

Current and former patients enjoyed face painting, photos, games, food and activities at this untraditional pre-holiday party.

Cancer support organizations such as Children's Oncology Services, Make-A-Wish, Gilda's Club, Starlight Children's Foundation, Bear Necessities Pediatric Cancer Foundation, CureSearch for Children's Cancer, Go4the Goal, Flashes of Hope and Girls Scouts provided information for parents and activities for kids.

St. Baldrick's Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to raising money for childhood cancer research, also presented a check to support Children's Oncology Group pediatric cancer clinical trials at multiple hospitals including Children's Hospital University of Illinois.
