‘Jaw Surgery’ may not be a covered benefit (policy exclusion) or may be covered under limited conditions. It may not cover all procedures to restore the facial skeleton. We have been successful in obtaining insurance coverage and other arrangements for many of our patients.

First Step

Call your insurance company and ask if your insurance covers jaw surgery as a medical benefit. It may not be a covered benefit. THIS IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY. If your insurance changes, please check with the new insurance.

3 Months Before Your Jaw Surgery

We will submit a letter to your insurance ONLY after we have received the following:

  1. A letter from you telling us what functional problems you are having because of your jaws and bite. This is important for the person who reviews your case for approval or denial
  2. Special jaw x-rays that show your medical and dental condition
  3. Photographs of your face and teeth for the
  4. Our surgeon's note detailing the type of jaw surgery
