Dr. Molly Martin focuses on community models to improve health, specifically the community health worker model. She is particularly interested in Latino health, asthma and obesity in children. Dr. Martin has been the principal investigator on several NIH-funded projects. She obtained her medical degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin and then completed pediatrics residency and the Robert Wood Johnson Clinical Scholars Program at the University of Chicago. Dr. Martin spent nine years at Rush University Medical Center before moving to the University of Illinois Hospital & Health Sciences System in February of 2014. She is located in both the Department of Pediatrics and the Institute for Health Research and Policy. She serves on the on the Executive Committee for Community Health Worker Section of the American Public Health Association and the Board of the Chicago Asthma Consortium. Dr. Martin speaks Spanish and sees patients at the Mile Square Health Center.
