Our board-certified faculty physicians provide evaluation and manage the treatment of occupational and environmental injuries and diseases, such as: asthma, allergies, asbestosis, cancer, carpal tunnel syndrome, and low back pain. We specialize in identifying the cause of the condition for medical legal purposes and prevention.
Occupational Medicine Services for Industry
Our primary care occupational health program provides specialized physician and nursing services to corporations in the Chicago area. Our client companies enjoy 24/7 emergency treatment services, day one case management, documentation of injury by physicians who understand workers' compensation, OSHA reporting, and are dedicated to rapid return to work of injured employees. Our faculty referral network permits rapid consultation and treatment from specialists at one of the premier academic medical centers in Chicago.
Part time board certified faculty physician advisors provide a flexible, cost-effective solution for meeting the needs for a part time corporate medical department or external chart review. Through this innovative program, our corporate partners enjoy the confidential individualized advice of a single faculty member with the backup of our entire group, thus providing years of experience in field of occupational and environmental medicine to each issue that arises. As a World Health Organization collaborating center, we advise multinational organizations who wish to make cost-effective choices that are consistent with environmental and public health values.
Occupational Medical Surveillance and Screening
We provide necessary medical tests & vaccinations (including yearly for influenza) either routine or one time workforce on-site screening. We also conduct site inspections for risk identification and can provide on-site industrial hygiene assessments.
Traveler Health Services
Same day pre and post travel advice, vaccination, and medical assessment is offered to meet all US or international requirements.
UI Health Services
UI Health Services provides occupational health services for the University of Illinois Hospital & Health Sciences System employees, the University of Illinois employees , volunteers, and students (if exposed or injured as part of the student curriculum). Services include new hire assessments, drug testing, work ability assessments, fitness for duty assessments, worker injury assessments, medical surveillance evaluations, travel evaluations, and student vaccinations. The department's mission is to promote the health of the employee, volunteer, or student throughout their work at the university. In addition, UI Health Services partners with multiple university departments to develop and coordinate health surveillance and disability programs to comply with regulatory agencies.
An employee who is injured on the job must inform the employer promptly, by contacting his/her supervisor to report the injury. An employee must thoroughly complete and sign the First Report of Injury Form (.pdf) within 24 hours and email (WorkComp@uillinois.edu & Safe@uic.edu) to the Office of Workers' Compensation and Claims Management.
Health in the Arts
Our medical specialists address the special risks that performance and graphics artists face from exposures to toxic materials and hazardous physical conditions to injuries and repetitive motions disorders. We combine treatment and prevention as part of our consultation.
