Sleep Science Center

About the Sleep Science Center

The Sleep Science Center utilizes a multidisciplinary team approach, providing a comprehensive continuum of care from diagnosis, individual treatment plans and education. Sleep is essential for a person's health and well-being, yet millions of people do not get enough sleep and many suffer from lack of sleep. Surveys suggest 50-70 million Americans suffer from sleep disorders, and 60% of adults report having sleep problems a few nights a week or more. Most of these problems go undiagnosed and untreated.

Our state-of-the-art center is unique in that it offers physician consultation and evaluation, sleep study testing, and fitting of respiratory equipment at one location.

Our Services

The Center assesses and treats all sleep disorders. We do consultations, sleep studies and fitting of respiratory equipment. Our sleep consultation services include:

  • Snoring
  • Insomnia
  • Daytime sleepiness
  • Night terrors
  • Pediatric sleep problems
  • Sleep schedule disorders
  • Obstructive sleep apnea
  • Narcolepsy
  •  Restless leg syndrome

Sleep studies are done in our Sleep Science Center. Patients usually spend one night, arriving at 8PM and leaving at 6AM. Our experienced technicians monitor brain waves and other physiologic measures which are recorded electronically as well as use digital video imaging. This allows the physician to interpret sleep data and sleep-related behavior at once. Testing is painless. Our testing rooms are comfortable, hotel-like bedrooms equipped with a TV and a private bathroom. A family member may spend the night with the patient to alleviate any concerns. If additional treatment or sleep aids are required, we have knowledgeable staff on site to fit sleep masks or discuss other options.

Our Team

Our sleep physicians are all experts in treating sleep disorders, and the director of our Sleep Science Center is board-certified in Sleep Medicine. Additionally, all of our sleep physicians are trained in both pulmonary and critical care. They bring years of experience to their practice and many assist in the training of our fellows. They are involved in patient care as well as research, and are able to provide an innovative approach to treatment.
