A Bone Marrow Transplant or BMT is a procedure to replace damaged or destroyed bone marrow with healthy bone marrow stem cells.

Our Services
The BMT Program at the University of Illinois Hospital performs autologous and allogenic transplants in patients with different types of cancer of the bone marrow, specific solid tumors (e.g. testicular cancer) or non-neoplastic blood disorders, such as aplastic anemia or sickle cell anemia.
Through ongoing research, we continue to develop new and innovative treatment options using all available stem cells resources. These cell sources include:

Our Team
Our BMT team and specialists serve a diverse ethnic patient population, providing personalized treatment and care to meet the unique needs of each patient. Our dedicated team of doctors, nurses, physician assistants and transplant coordinators are specially trained in and solely devoted to bone and marrow transplantation. Their focus is on performing the procedure safely, while carefully managing the patient’s pain management before, during and after the transplant. The entire team is in constant communication with each other as well as the patient’s family and referring physician.
