Shriners Hospitals for Children® - Chicago
UI Health has been formally affiliated with Shriners Hospitals for Children — Chicago since late 2014, but collaboration between the organizations has spanned several decades. Shriners Hospitals for Children — Chicago is dedicated to transforming the lives of children in Illinois and beyond through specialized surgical care and treatment of spinal deformities, cleft lip and palate and craniofacial deformities, pediatric orthopedic conditions and advanced rehabilitation for spinal cord injuries in children. Care and services are provided regardless of a family's ability to pay. Some UI Health medical faculty also serve on the medical team at the Chicago Shriners Hospital as well as provide advanced imaging, anesthesia and other care. Shriners Hospitals for Children — Chicago provides a valuable training site for UI Health medical students and residents, and has invested in research conducted by UI Health faculty. Through this growing partnership, the two organizations aim to provide enhanced access and more streamlined care for children well into the future.
