UI Health News with Dr. Robert Barish

UI Health News with Dr. Robert Barish is a regular video series from the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Health Affairs that provides transparent, direct health-system updates between UI Health leadership and employees.

In this segment of UI Health News, Dr. Barish welcomes Dr. Mark Rosenblatt, head of the Department of Ophthalmology & Visual Sciences, and Dr. Jennifer Lim, director of the Retina Service, to talk about UI Health's advancements in vision restoration with the Argus II retinal prosthesis.

Dr. Barish also provides updates on UI Health's Patient Access Optimization Initiative, the College of Nursing's latest marks in U.S. News & World Report's Best Grad Schools rankings, and UI Health doctors documenting the first cure of an adult patient with congenital dyserythropoietic anemia (CDA), a rare blood disorder in which the body does not produce enough red blood cells, causing progressive organ damage and early death.
