Dr. Ayah El-khatib practices in the Department of Pediatrics at UI Health. Dr. El-khatib cares for children, adolescents, and young adults with a wide range of blood disorders and cancers. Her clinical interests include hematologic malignancies, solid tumors, and conditions involving blood clots, and she works closely with each patient and family to develop a clear, personalized care plan.
Dr. El-khatib takes time to explain diagnoses and treatments in patient-friendly language, and is especially dedicated to supporting adolescents and young adults, who often face unique medical and emotional challenges during care. She also recognizes how unmet health-related social needs, such as transportation access or financial stress, can impact treatment, and she collaborates with our care team to help connect patients with available resources.
