Dr. Jacob Avraham practices in the Department of Surgery at UI Health. Dr. Avraham is a trauma and critical care surgeon specializing in the treatment of surgical ICU patients, including those with acute or life-threatening trauma, burns, infections, inflammation, or ischemia. His clinical interests include injury epidemiology, student and resident education, and improving the role of multidisciplinary care teams play in providing optimal care to complex surgical patients. Dr. Avraham has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and has presented his work at surgical conferences across the country. He serves as the section chief of our Surgical Critical Care team.
