Dr. Melani Lighter is a board-certified general surgeon at UI Health. Dr. Lighter's clinical interests include minimally invasive and robotic surgery for the management of reflux disease, abdominal wall hernias, and diseases of the gastrointestinal tract. Her interests also include interventional and minimally invasive techniques to diagnose and treat lung cancer. Dr. Lighter performs an array of general surgical procedures, in addition to endoscopy, interventional pulmonary, and thoracic procedures, and she is passionate about providing quality and compassionate surgical care to her patients. She has authored a surgical textbook chapter and has written several papers.
