Dr. Vania Leung is a primary care physician at UI Health. Dr. Leung provides individualized care to patients of all ages, and she has a specialized focus on geriatric patients. Her clinical interests include post-acute care, transitions of care, delirium, dementia, and advanced care planning. Dr. Leung is an assistant professor in the Department of Academic Internal Medicine Geriatrics at the University of Illinois College of Medicine, and she has many clinical-educator responsibilities, including teaching various levels of trainees through bedside rounding in geriatrics clinics, inpatient consults, and skilled nursing facility (SNF) settings. She has been recognized with the Human Resources Services Administration (HRSA) Geriatrics Academic Career Award (GACA) for creating an interprofessional geriatrics curriculum in and around UIC's various professional schools and affiliated sites. Her goal is to improve care for older adults by creating age-friendly settings for our older adults residing in underserved areas of Chicago. She also serves a large Asian-American population within all these settings by providing culturally appropriate care.
