Dr. Yasser Farid practices in the Department of Orthopaedics at UI Health. Dr. Farid specializes in hip and knee replacement, revision arthroplasty, and orthopaedic oncology, with a focus on using advanced surgical techniques, robotics, and computer assistance to improve outcomes of joint replacement surgery. In the past three decades, he has performed a large number of complex surgeries to treat failed hip and knee replacements with severe bone loss and infection. He also specializes in treating bone tumors with limb salvage procedures as an alternative to amputation. In addition, Dr. Farid removes pelvic and sacral tumors and performs reconstructive surgery for metastatic bone tumors. He and his team partner with patients, medical specialists, and family doctors to understand their goals and communicate effectively with colleagues to provide the best possible treatments.
