UI Health CHAMPIONS 2024 summer cohort on a UIC east campus tour.
The CHAMPIONS Summer Internship is an in-person six-week work-based learning program for Chicago area college-bound high school juniors and seniors on the pre-health track.
Program participants engage in health career exploration and multidisciplinary experiences in partnership with the UIC Urban Health Program, UIC Hispanic Center of Excellence, and the seven UIC health sciences colleges. External strategic partners include Illinois Heart Rescue and the Within Thin Lines Foundation (for bystander CPR and Stop the Bleed trainings).
The CHAMPIONS Summer Internship is currently accepting applications. Please view our online application for eligibility criteria. The deadline to apply and submit all application materials is March 1, 2026.
The program is implemented in partnership with the UIC Urban Health Program.
