UI Health Logo
The primary UI Health identity and logo represent the entirety of the academic health enterprise and communicate the clear ties to our academic organization, the University of Illinois Chicago (UIC). The primary UI Health logo is also used as the “in-market” primary identity for patient healthcare services.
This primary identity is used to represent patient care activities of the University of Illinois Hospital & Clinics and the faculty practice activities of the University of Illinois College of Medicine and College of Pharmacy practice locations.
Departmental logos or variations are not permitted except as outlined in secondary identifiers, for Mile Square Health Center, and for the University of Illinois Cancer Center. Specific clinic or departmental identifiers may be referenced in text within the communication material and anchored with the primary UI Health logo.

Primary Identity
The UI Health logo is fully represented by three elements: the IL icon, UI Health typography, and the UIC circle mark. This logo should be treated as one image and should not be altered, added to, or deleted from in any way.
Stacked Logo
The Stacked Logo is to be used only when the placement dimensions make the scale of the Official Logo too small to read.
Abbreviated Logo
The Abbreviated UI Health logo may be used after the first use of the primary logo in multipage documents or internal presentations.
Logo Use Violations
Do not use the logo if it might give the appearance that UI Health is endorsing a product or for-profit entity.
The logo only should be used when there is a direct link to the activity of UI Health.
Any formal affiliation sponsorship or advertisement must be approved by UI Health Marketing & Strategic Communications, the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Health Affairs, or UIC Strategic Marketing & Communications.
The logo should not be placed on a color that decreases legibility unless approved by Marketing.
The logo can never be one-color blue.
The only acceptable logo colors are the primary four color, all black, gray/silver, white.
There is not a logo without the UIC circle mark.
Do not place service line names above the logo.
Service line logos are not used.
Do not combine the UI Health and UIC logos into one logo.
Do not use the IL Cross on its own.
Do not use the UIC Blue Button on its own.
Do not use a red UIC button.
Health Sciences Colleges Clinical Services Identity
Clinical services that are administratively managed by a Health Sciences College (e.g., Applied Health Sciences) use UI Health as the primary brand, with the primary University logo represented on the second surface of the piece. It is recommended to use this primary University logo in white on a blue color field to use a consistent color palette. This logo is accompanied by the relationship text that defines who is providing the care (see below example). If the item is single sided, such as a print ad or flyer, only the relationship text would be included. The department name would be included in the headline.
Single-sided Material
- Practice name
(used when collateral item includes a secondary surface) - Marketing headline
- Relationship text:
Care provided by the UIC College of [e.g., Applied Health Sciences] - UI Health logo
