Visiting a Patient
The presence of loved ones can have a positive effect on patients and can aid in the healing process. We encourage loved ones to visit and participate in decisions, treatment, and daily care plans as determined by the patient. This page will provide information about hospital hours, gift shop, chapel, hospital amenities, and more. Please note visitor limitations are in effect for COVID-19 and in accordance with the City of Chicago's Emergency Travel Order.

Parking for drop off/pickup in front of the University of Illinois Hospital (1740 W. Taylor St.) is limited to 15 minutes.
The University of Illinois Hospital & Clinics offers a wide range of housing options for patients and their family members within the Chicagoland area.
Located in the main lobby of the hospital and on the second floor of the Outpatient Care Center.
Located in Room 1140 in the hospital. Open from 6 am to 9 pm. Chaplains are available for both patients and family members. To request pastoral care service, please call 312.996.0296.

Language & Communication Services
UI Health strives to provide superior quality of care and clear communications about your care and treatment. If you need language assistance, please let your providers know, and your care team will facilitate professional language and interpreting services. We provide these services free of charge to our patients and their family members.
