UI Health is certified as a Comprehensive Stroke Center — the highest level of stroke certification for Joint Commission-accredited hospitals.

As a Comprehensive Stroke Center, UI Health has significant resources in hospital infrastructure, staff, and training to provide state-of-the-art care to all stroke patients. Comprehensive Stroke Center status signifies that we meet the most advanced requirements for stroke care, including diagnostic testing capability, neurosurgical services, and clinical performance measures. Our Acute Stroke Team and dedicated neuro intensive care beds are available 24/7 to care for stroke patients.
