Dr. Michael Miloro and Tanya McCarter

Tanya McCarter is a UI Health nurse who suffered damage to a facial nerve during dental surgery. To treat the damaged nerve, she turned to her UI Health colleague, microsurgery expert Dr. Michael Miloro, who literally authored a textbook on her particular injury. "When I started researching nerve repair specialists, I found Dr. Miloro. And because he was at UI Health, I knew he would take great care of me," said Tanya.
